Our Story

We didn't plan to own a butcher shop. In 2021, we were looking to purchase a farm so we could live out our homesteading dreams. That all changed when we stumbled across the property that would become Renick Valley Meats. 

We had the opportunity to purchase a small custom meat processing business situation on a farm. 

Instead of stepping completely away from the food system, we decided to become part of it. For the first two years we focused on learning the business, while farming on the side. 

Today we are focused on creating a strong regional food system that connects meat from small, family owned farms to real families who want real food. To us, local means knowing where our food comes from and choosing small, family owned businesses and producers over large corporations whenever possible.
